New goals =)

Firstly, lets all give ourselves a good pat on the back =D

Now that we've gone through 2 gigs... done what we've always wanted to do, gain the stage experience, what's next?

I must say I've learnt quite a bit from Pio in terms of confidence and learning how to work with a different drummer. And we all have gotten far since our first gig as well, in terms of performance. However, there's still that one problem of moving more on stage, and more body language, plus looking more at the audience. I have no choice of course, gotta look up hehe. But well, this will be another goal.

The more important goals for me now are:
1) Find a new drummer (hopefully female)
2) Work on our long overdue originals
3) build on a larger repertoire of covers as well
4) Resist temptation of accepting gigs for a period of time till we can gain a stronger band identity
5) consistently practice on our own, new songs, and old songs (hehe.. *looks at somebody* =P) even if we do not always jam the same songs repeatedly all the time, we can play old songs whenever we feel like it, just for practice sake.
6) And for me, to rest enough and sleep enough so I don't always fall sick!

You guys have anymore to add to this?

So now, YJ, need to trouble you to contact the drummers we can try out... I'm free before 22nd till 24th June. Not sure of the date I'm setting off for genting, but its probably 28th June.

And yes, suggestions of new songs to play! Iris? ;)

btw, any of you have photos of the gig yesterday?

My goals:
1) better bass skills
2) gaodim the originals haiii...they are haunting us
3) larger repertoire!! this is very impt, i am sick of that 6 songs hahaa.
Lets do lydia~~!
4) Refrain from killing drummers who spam ppl with sms-es NONSTOP and speak like "dis". Hold me back guys if i start to snarl.

That aside, to train up stage presence I think we need to go for the occasional gig even if we don't have a fixed drummer yet. If we stay away from the stage for too long, the next time we step up again we'll proba be super gan cheong all over. Now at least we are sort of more used to it. One gig per 1/2 month, if we can get, would be nice. What do you guys think?

I have a hp pic of the audience for that gig, flo you want? I pass you on msn next time heh ^^

i don't mind gigging but the problem with stand in drummers is we need at least 2 weeks to practice with him/her before a gig. And in that we lose our own time to do up originals or practice new songs.

So my stand is still, I like to perform too, but we cannot gig too often and that there is no point just gaining stage experience but we stay put with the identity of a 'cover band'.

We gotta give and take. Thats why I emphasize the importance of finding a perm drummer as the number 1 goal. if we can have that.. we are on our road to gigging often and arranging originals more efficiently (coz we have someone with better knowledge of drum rhythms).

And like I told huixian before, I think stage presence is a matter of confidence and feeling comfortable with your instrument. You can be put on stage lots of times and not learn stage presence. Observe other guitarists/bassists/performers and feel more at ease with your instrument. Naturally stage presence will come =)
